Matipa: A poem

A year later I still bear scars

Scars testament to your life

Life I birthed, life I am proud to have birthed

The pain maybe be no more

The flutters have however

Grown stronger

Those sleepy smiles

Turned to sitting smiles

That turned to standing smiles

As we wait for the walking smiles

I can only imagine how these flutters will only get stronger

And more smiles coming after

We patiently await your blossom

As you pursue it, whether present or not

I will be there with you

With much love

As I loved you that first day

It shall be forever and always
